This Apprenticeships develops the skills essential to effective business development and organisational growth. Content includes enterprising ingenuity and solutions, interpersonal and communication skills and effective leadership, team building and steering techniques. Includes the Level 5 Diploma in Innovation and Growth.
Apprentices will develop their entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and abilities via completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Innovation & Growth, which covers all the fundamental knowledge required to be a successful, innovative entrepreneur. Mandatory units covered include: Innovation and Growth in Organisations, Use of Financial Information for Planning Innovation and Growth and The Innovative Mindset.
This Apprenticeship is designed by employers to help apprentices develop the traits they need to succeed, with a focus on enterprise, communication and leadership skills. As a Higher Apprentice individuals will identify and implement innovative ideas and processes that will help your business compete and grow in a dynamic business environment.
Who is this course for?
Apprentices will be working within an organisation that is looking for innovation, encourages new ideas or working practices, and expects apprentices to be enterprising employees or entrepreneurs who are ready to bring something new to the organisation.
This Apprenticeship has been developed with help from the Peter Jones Foundation and can include working in a management position, helping a team implement their ideas and develop them into successful products or services, or working as an innovation scout, which will involve marketing, as well as research and development into new products.
The majority of the training costs delivered by the College for Apprenticeships is funded. There is a required employer contribution towards this as follows:
- Apprentices aged 16 – 18 = Free
- Apprentices aged 19+ = Employer contribution of £500 or £750 for large organisations
Employers must pay Apprentices a wage (minimum of £2.68 per hour). Apprenticeships at Truro and Penwith College are only available to businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
This Apprenticeship is achieved by attending taught sessions, completing written assignments, a work-based portfolio of NVQ units, and doing timed and work-based assessments.
35 taught days over 18 months. There is a significant amount of research and written work to be completed between taught sessions.
