Additional Diploma for Teaching English in the Lifelong Learning Sector
This new qualification is an ideal and essential qualification for all those already involved in the delivery of ESOL in the UK.
It is a practical course which focuses on improving and developing the subject-specific teaching skills of those practitioners working in the ESOL sector. During the course participants will complete two core modules that will examine the practical and theoretical aspects of teaching ESOL.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL/EFL)
English for Speakers of Other Languages is offered at all levels, Basic, Elementary, Intermediate, Higher Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency, leading to a University of Cambridge EFL qualification (F.C.E, C.A.E, and C.P.E.) or an ESOL Skills for Life Certificate at an appropriate level. We can also prepare students to take the international IELTS qualification. Students can attend lessons at various times during the week according to need and availability. The courses cover speaking, reading, listening, grammar and writing.
Our ESOL for UK Citizenship course is aimed at students who wish to apply for British citizenship, or who would simply like to know more about living in the UK. It will cover many areas about living and working in the UK.
Students will develop their grammar, punctuation and spelling skills, focusing on learning detailed rules concerning punctuation and grammar. This course is for ESOL students of all levels.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
This course is for anyone who needs to achieve a high level score on the IELTS exam whether for access to higher education or professional qualifications in the UK. Both daytime and evening classes are available. Students work in small groups with a teacher and practise speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and exam technique. This course is suitable for any student who already has IELTS level 4.5 or above. Students will need to travel to Plymouth to take the final exam.
An opportunity to brush up on basic literacy, language and number skills, in a workshop situation, leading to nationally recognised qualifications at Levels I and II. Work at your own pace, ‘’Move on’’, take the National Test.
Students will develop their reading skills by reading and interacting with the local newspaper. The course also aims to develop students' knowledge of local culture and events.
This course will help students to develop their reading and writing skills for a wide variety of situations. This will include writing essays, articles, reports and formal and informal letters. This course is for ESOL students of all levels.
Trinity Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CertTESOL) & PTLLS (New)
This Level 5 course is the leading initial teacher training course for those interested in teaching English as a foreign language. Our course also includes an integrated PTLLS qualification enabling you to teach ESOL in the UK as well as overseas.
