Tregye

Tregye was built as a country estate in
1809 and Truro College bought the site
at the beginning of September 1999. The
country house is set in its own grounds
with mature gardens and trees and it
overlooks extensive
views of the countryside reaching down
to the Fal estuary. Geographically
Tregye is four miles from
Truro centre, a mile from Loe Beach,
six miles from
Mylor Yachting Harbour
and seven miles from the main campus.

Transport
There is a local bus service which runs
regularly to and from Truro.
The closest bus stop to Tregye is
approximately half a mile away in
the village of
Carnon Downs. There is
car parking should you wish to
bring your own vehicle.
NB: Students are entirely responsible
for their own rooms and the smooth
running of the kitchen/communal areas
including tidiness and consideration for
each other. There are facilities such as
a computer suite and a library in the
main house. These are available to
residents. Rents are due termly in
advance and a damage deposit of £200
will be required.
Tregye House
There is accommodation within the main
house with four twin rooms
on the top two floors. Each room has two
beds, wardrobes, desks and a sink. This
accommodation is self-catering. There is
a shared kitchen which has all the
essential equipment including a
microwave, oven, washing machine, tumble
dryer and a fridge-freezer. There are
separate bathroom, toilet and
shower facilities. There is also a
common room.
Penrose House
Penrose House was constructed in 1988 as
a purpose-built accommodation block.
This accommodation is self catering.
Internally it comprises single and twin
rooms, all furnished with beds,
wardrobes and desks. There are separate
shared bathroom, toilet and shower
facilities. Each room has its own
lockable door, the entrance door
automatically locks and tenants are
issued with their own keys.
There is a communal fitted kitchen with
all the essential equipment such as a
microwave, refrigerators, freezers and
cookers. At one end of the room there is
a comfortable area in which to relax
which is fitted with a television and
DVD. Also provided are 2 washing
machines and two tumble dryers.
At the rear of the building there is a
walled garden with historical features.
