The Jazz Degree Big Band is drawn (by invitation) from students studying on the Truro College/Plymouth University Contemporary World Jazz Degree. This 14-17 piece ensemble and singers was founded in 2006 and led by course leader/pianist/composer and arranger Vivian Rodd. The ensemble has already enjoyed great success playing at many prestigious venues in the West Country. With a mixture of Swing/Fusion/Latin/Crossover/Free/Be-Bop/Ballads and Blues, this amazingly talented group of musicians will hold you spellbound and wanting more. The library mainly comprises arrangements and originals penned by Viv to make the most out of the many talented soloists in the band. The arrangements also give the band (especially in the ensembles) a real professional quality and appeal. Line up of the Band 2010 / 2011.
