is a beautiful part of the United Kingdom, right down in the South West corner of England you are in the heart of Celtic history and a million miles from busy, congested cities.

Cornwall has over 500 miles of unspoilt coastline full of some of the most fantastic sandy beaches in Europe. The wild north coast faces the Atlantic and is well known for its big waves popular with surfers.

One of the top resorts in the UK for surfers, and tourists in general, is Newquay. Newquay is home to some beautiful beaches and hosts part of the World Surfing Tour every summer.

Summertime in Newquay is great fun with loads to do and a great holiday atmosphere. Newquay is highly dependent on summer tourism and during the high season there are lots of jobs available in hotels and restaurants - you may need to come early though to find the best jobs!

At Newquay Open Learning Centre we offer language classes all year round and we have catered our timetable to fit around students who need to work and study. The college, located in the centre of Newquay, provides a great place to learn English and to meet lots of new people in Newquay.

Not only Newquay, but the whole of Cornwall is popular with tourists in the summer. Part of the attraction are the traditional summer festivals that are great fun to watch and take part in.

Helston Flora Day is an ancient spring festival celebrated on the 8th May each year. The festival is full of colourful flowers, music and dancing and is intended to be a ritual to ensure a good harvest that year. The most famous part is the Furry Dance where couples dance through the town along a special route that takes them in and out of people's houses!

This is just one of many festivals you will enjoy when you come to Cornwall. As part of our social activities programme we often organise trips and transport to these fun events.

One of the hottest new attractions in Cornwall is The Eden Project. The Eden Project was designed as a Millennium project to mark the year 2000. It has been a fantastic success as people have travelled from far and wide to experience the wonderful journey through the plants of the world.

The famous Eden biospheres house plants, trees, flowers and life from around the world. A visit to the Eden Projects makes for a wonderful day out and it is somewhere you will want to return to again and again to see how it changes.

Also, during the summer months, they hold music concerts at the Eden Project featuring some of the best bands around.

Even though Cornwall is right in the South West corner of the UK it is still easy to get to here by road, rail, air or sea.

Many visitors to Cornwall now come by air, directly to Newquay International Airport using cheap flight companies like Ryanair and BMI Baby.
