YOU ARE HERE: HOME/STUDY ENGLISH/ACCOMMODATION

Finding somewhere to stay can often be the hardest and most worrying part of travelling to a new place so it is important to be prepared.

Unfortunately Truro College does not have any accommodation for ESOL students. However, we do have a list of accommodation that we can provide you with.

Through the experiences of our students we also have the following advice:
A lot of students who come here spend the first few days or sometimes weeks in Bed & Breakfast while they find a room to rent either by themselves or in a shared flat or house.

By far the cheapest way to live here is by renting a room in a shared house. This can cost anywhere between £40 - £80 a week. This can sometimes also include your bills, but it is important to check this before you rent the property as electricity, gas, water and Council tax are all expensive bills.
Our students recommend that you come with at least £700 to help you through the first few weeks and to pay a deposit on a room or a house.

If you have to pay a deposit it is usually one month’s rent in advance. Alternatively, if you find work in the hotel industry you may be lucky enough to be given accommodation as part of your job. A lot of our students get accommodation this way.
