Divemaster - Cost of Internship £149

Divemaster training is the first leadership level in the PADI profession. The rating denotes an individual who:

• Has a high level of personal diving skill
• Has instructor-level knowledge of diving skill
• Has had significant training in how to assist an instructor during training activities
• Is able to assume a responsible role of for the welfare of the divers in their charge

Academic sessions begin with self-study of the diving knowledge workbook and may include Instructor presentations. Areas covered include:

• Course Orientation
• Supervising General Diving Activities for Certified Divers
• Assisting with Student Divers in Training
• Dive Theory Introduction
• Physics of Diving
• Physiology of Diving
• Dive Equipment
• Decompression Theory and the RDP

There are also stamina and rescue assessments as well as confined water skills assessments and practical training exercises
Your PADI Divemaster certification can be worked towards on an internship basis. Successful completion of the course enables the candidate to become a member of PADI. An annual fee is payable to PADI.
Candidates should be able to provide all their own diving equipment at a level acceptable for carrying out the supervision of beginners.
The cost of the internship includes the PADI Divemaster manual & Divemaster slates Purchase of the Encyclopaedia of Recreational Diving and the Diving Knowledge Workbook is required. Further, purchase of the PADI Instructor Manual is recommended.
You will need to submit an HSE Diving Medical prior to start of course and Emergency First Response certification or equivalent.  (DDRC in Plymouth 01752 209999)

Course Pre-requisites

Minimum Age 18
Rescue Diver or equivalent
Emergency First Response certification or equivalent
Completed 20 logged dives prior to starting the course
Completed 60 logged dives prior to completion of the course
