Emergency First Responder Cost: £69 fully inclusive -  Duration: 1 day

This course is designed for Divers and Non-Divers.
Completion of the course will entitle the successful candidate to be issued with the appropriate certificate from PADI.

The Emergency First Response course offered by PADI is a basic-training course in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care. It is a medically based assistance course designed to train students to follow at layman’s level, the same emergency procedures and priorities used by paramedics and doctors.

The skills of patient care necessary to support life of an ill or injured person are covered in seven modules in which practical application and hands-on practice are emphasised. Students learn these skills in the same sequence they would use in caring for a patient.

• Primary assessment
• One-rescuer CPR
• Obstructed airway
• Control of bleeding
• Shock management
• Illness assessment
• Injury assessment

The Emergency First Response course covers both the CPR and first-aid techniques in a cohesive manner. This approach is designed to provide the patient with a continuity of care as that patient is passed from the first person on the scene (using the techniques of Emergency First Response) to the Paramedics and finally on to the doctors in the emergency room (casualty).
